Our Story

how it all began

What began as a collection of forgotten seminary papers evolved into a mission-driven platform. As a pastor confronting the stark reality of declining biblical literacy in America, I realized these insights couldn't remain hidden. As I continued to write somewhat aimlessly about biblical ideas and themes, once I saw these statistics, the mission became clear. In that moment, Confident Witness was born from a burning conviction to bridge the gap between spiritual indifference and transformative, everyday faith. We're more than a website; we're a movement dedicated to rekindling genuine biblical engagement in a world hungry for authentic spiritual connection.

As someone whose life was radically transformed by Scripture, I couldn't ignore this stark reality. Millions are missing out on the spiritual nourishment and guidance that reshaped my own journey from a troubled path to one of purpose. This realization wasn't just concerning; it became my call to action. I founded this business with a burning desire: to bridge the gap between people and the life-giving power of God's Word, one reader at a time.

We provide tools and teachings that make Bible study engaging and relevant to everyday life. Our approach focuses on helping individuals understand Scripture deeply, apply its teachings practically, and experience the transformative power of God's Word in their lives, addressing the spiritual hunger many feel but don't know how to satisfy.

Who I AM

Hi there! My name is Nate Roten. As a passionate Pastor and Teacher, my heart beats for those moments when individuals encounter God's radical, life-changing love—and I'm committed to creating spaces and resources where such powerful encounters can happen. I began my ministry journey in 2011 at Samaritan's Purse by coordinating global logistics and training volunteers in over 80 countries with Operation Christmas Child. Throughout that time, I also served in a host of ways in my local church - from teaching Sunday School to leading Life Groups. Today, I am the Lead Pastor of Ashe Alliance Church in Jefferson, NC, after graduating from Liberty University with a Master's in Discipleship and Church Ministry. I've been blessed to witness the profound power of God's Spirit to change lives, and that is what I want for you: to ignite spiritual growth and empower you to embrace your transformative journey in Christ.

Everything I create is rooted in a deep desire to honor Jesus as Lord, reflecting His truth and love in every resource and interaction. I aim to point others to His glory, ensuring that all I produce aligns with His Word and exalts His name. This work is an act of worship dedicated to helping others grow in their faith and live for His kingdom.

I believe in Sola Scriptura and Tota Scriptura, meaning that the 66 books of the Protestant Bible are the inspired word of God and are the only infallible rule of faith and practice. Every word is theopneustos, or God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16), and is therefore 100% reliable truth. I am dedicated to proclaiming these truths, even when it is uncomfortable or counter-cultural.

I am dedicated to impacting culture and advancing God’s Kingdom on earth by equipping believers to be a light in the world. This world needs confident Christians who will speak and live the truth. As Jesus said, “A city on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). My mission is to inspire others to live out their faith boldly, shining Christ’s light in every sphere of influence. Through faithful teaching and mentorship, I strive to raise up disciples who embody Kingdom values and bring God’s transformative truth to a world in need.
